Savor the Fortune: Honey Tang Unveils a “Gallop into Prosperity” Campaign for the Year of the Horse

Malatang

As the crimson lanterns flicker to life across the city and the aroma of toasted Sichuan peppercorns fills the air, a new season of flavor is beginning. At Honey Tang, we believe that food is more than sustenance—it is a ritual of intention. This year, as we prepare to welcome the Year of the Horse on February 17, 2026, we are inviting our community to do more than just eat. We are inviting you to “Build Your Bowl and Choose Your Love” in a celebration of luck, craft, and culinary fortune.

The Philosophy of the Bowl

Honey Tang has always stood at the intersection of tradition and customization. Our signature Malatang and Malaban (dry stir-fry) concepts have redefined how diners interact with Chinese cuisine. Instead of a static menu, we provide a canvas of over 100 fresh ingredients—from marbled wagyu cubes and succulent crayfish to crisp lotus roots and hand-pulled noodles.

“The Year of the Horse is characterized by energy, speed, and bright success,” says the Marketing Manager of Honey Tang. “Our ‘Gallop into Fortune’ campaign reflects that spirit. We wanted to create a space where the act of picking your own ingredients feels like picking your own destiny for the new year.”

January: The Prelude to Prosperity

The festivities begin long before the first firework. Starting January 21 at 7:00 PM, Honey Tang will debut its seasonal brand refresh. The stores will transform into elegant sanctuaries of red and gold, integrated with subtle lantern motifs and chili-themed art that pays homage to the “heart” of our kitchen.

To kick things off, we are launching the “Lucky 7” Challenge. Every evening from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, any diner whose DIY bowl weighs in at exactly 777 grams—or the closest to it—will receive their meal at 50% OFF. It is a playful nod to the numerology of luck, turning the weighing scale into a moment of communal excitement.

February: The Grand Lunar Celebration

As we approach the official Lunar New Year on February 17, the heat in our kitchens will rise alongside the stakes. From February 10 to February 20, Honey Tang will host the “Golden Horse Hongbao Tree.” Any guest with a single-receipt purchase of ₱888 or more will be invited to pluck a traditional Red Envelope (Hongbao) from our in-store Luck Tree. We have hidden thousands of prizes within these envelopes, ranging from instant discounts and free premium toppings to our most coveted prize: The Golden Ticket, which grants the holder one free Malatang bowl every week for an entire month.

For those celebrating with family, we are proud to introduce “The Great Wall of Flavor.” This massive, curated communal platter features 18 auspicious ingredients—including abalone, golden mushrooms, and specialty fish balls—specifically chosen to represent wealth, longevity, and togetherness. It is the ultimate “Reunion Feast” for the modern Filipino-Chinese family.

A Digital Feast

Understanding that our community eats with their eyes first, Honey Tang is also launching a series of interactive social media campaigns. Throughout January and February, follow us on TikTok and Facebook (@HoneyTangPH) for a behind-the-scenes look at our broth-making process, “Build Your Bowl” tutorials, and “ASMR” (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) videos that capture the satisfying crunch and sizzle of our signature Mala stir-fry.

We encourage our diners to share their creations using the hashtag #FortuneInABowl. Each week, we will select one creative “Flavor Artist” to win a ₱1,000 gift voucher.
